Tell people why you should represent them. Share your campaign with friends, family, followers and your community. Invite them to support you.
Campaign & Voting Period

Candidates have a defined campaign and voting period to earn the support needed to take office. The winner becomes the elected representative for their community.

Make Decisions
Once in office, deal with the issues facing your community. Work with the Mayor and Council, weigh choices, consider potential consequences and decide what you believe is best for the people you represent.

Decisions affect the direction of the community. 8.0 can show modeled potential effects on areas such as finances, housing, transportation, development, services and other community indicators.

Build Your Record
Every officeholder develops a public record based on what happened during their term: decisions made, issues supported or opposed, community changes, financial performance, major accomplishments, setbacks, and overall progress. This becomes their record in office.
Share What You Accomplished
Campaign results, major decisions and accomplishments can be shared publicly and through social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn. Let the people who supported you know what you achieved.

Run Again
At the end of a term, the community gets another opportunity to choose who leads next. An officeholder who wants another term can run again and campaign on their record. Voters can see what that person actually accomplished before deciding whether to support them again.
Real-World Issues
8.0 can bring current real-world community issues into the experience. If your city is debating a major development, transportation project, housing policy, or other important community issue, a related decision can appear in your city's 8.0 experience.
The people governing your community can consider it and choose their own direction. It's not guaranteed that every real-world event will automatically appear, and outcomes in 8.0 may differ from what actually happens in reality—but the decisions are real, and the consequences are modeled.
